Nathan was born March 3, 1936 in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Bessie Mae (Willett) and Otha Archie Forse. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
Nathan was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather. He was a member of Highway Missionary Baptist Church. He served his country with the United States Army in 1955-1957. He was stationed in Germany for 18 months and also served in Kentucky, San Francisco, California, and Louisiana. He was proud to serve his country in every sense of the word. We lost a valuable soldier today and he will be missed greatly. Nathan loved logging and worked until 2003 when his health kept him from returning. He missed that most of all. Numerous friends were made on the job and he always shared his work with his wife, Judy.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Barbe Forse of Huntington; daughters, Melista (Misty) Gray and Pam Freeman of Huntington; granddaughters, Kellie Gray, Rebecca Gray, Felicia Gray, Skyler Flannery, all of Huntington, and Tisha Procter of Moscow; great-grandchildren, Alice Gay and Donny Proctor; sisters, Jany Dempsey of Lufkin and Judy Fields of Houston; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Mary Forse of Huntington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Nathan was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Murray and Versie Murphy.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Reppond, Van Gay, Robert Gray, Patrick Flanary, Jeremy Bertrand, Randy Murray, Kylee Flanary and Daniel Flanary.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Services are in the care of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home
